15 suspects arrested in Niger State for various crimes


The Niger State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 15 suspects in connection with various crimes, including thuggery, motorcycle theft, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, escaping from custody, and armed robbery in the state. .

According to SP W. A Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in a statement, said the arrests were made in a series of operations conducted by police operatives in Suleja and Minna areas of Niger state.

In one of the operations, he explained that two suspected armed robbers, Chikile Stephen Ifesinachi, 37, and Naziru Nasiru, 19, both of Dakwa, Suleja, were arrested with exhibits including four machetes, two knives, four sim cards, four ATM cards, and illicit drugs.

The PRO stated that the suspects claimed that the items belonged to an alleged soldier who left them as collateral.

Abiodun revealed that in another operation, five thuggery suspects were arrested in Korokpan area of Chanchaga with dangerous weapons and suspected cannabis.

The suspects include Jonathan Samuel, 20, Aminu Moh’d Yusuf, 20, Mustapha Ibrahim, 18, Usman Mohammed, 18, and Ibrahim Tanko, 20, all of Korokpan.

He stated that one suspect, Abubakar Sadiq Idris, 25, of Limawa area, Minna, was arrested with a suspected stolen motorcycle, which he allegedly stole from a residence in Rahama area of Bosso while four other suspects were arrested for conspiracy, theft of motorcycle, and receiving stolen property.

They are Mohammed Mohammed, 28, Mohammed Abubakar, 30, Suleiman Lawan, 21, and Mustapha Aminu, 20.

Abiodun also disclosed that an escaped inmate, Jemilu Ibrahim, was arrested in Suleja with illicit substances and suspected stolen items, including ATM cards and phones.

” He (Jamilu) was among inmates who escaped from Suleja Correctional Center in 2024 due to a wall collapse during heavy rainfall, ” the command disclosed

Furthermore, the statement added that two other suspects, Lukman Umar, 23, and Saifullahi Ibrahim, 34, both of Suleja, were arrested for alleged involvement in a robbery syndicate.

Exhibits recovered from them include three locally fabricated revolver guns and two knives.

All the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will face prosecution.
