2026 WC Playoffs: Ekong, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Moses join Super Eagles camp
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and defender Benjamin Fredericks were expected at the team’s hotel in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday night to join the early arrivals ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Play-off Tournament.
They join the seven-man early group consisting of Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle on Saturday announced a 24-man squad for the crucial tournament, which will determine Africa’s representative for the Intercontinental Playoffs in Mexico next year.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final on Thursday, November 13, at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 5 p.m. local time (same as in Nigeria).
Most of the remaining 15 players are expected to report to camp on Monday as the three-time African champions intensify preparations for the decisive encounter against the Panthers of Gabon.
In the other semi-final, Cameroon will square off against the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the winners of both matches meeting on Sunday at the same venue for Africa’s lone ticket to the Intercontinental Playoffs.
