2026 WCQ: Benin Republic arrive Uyo for ‘showdown’ with Super Eagles

The delegation of Benin Republic is scheduled to arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital on Saturday afternoon ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

The Cheetahs defeated Rwanda 1-0 at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali, on Friday night.

Gernot Rohr’s side remain top of Group C with 17 points from nine matches.

The players and their officials are expected to fly straight to Uyo from Kigali.

Tuesday’s encounter will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Benin Republic are looking to qualify for the World Cup for the first time.
