2026 WCQ: We miss five players against Nigeria’s Super Eagles – Benin coach Rohr
Head coach of the Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, has admitted that his side will miss five players against Nigeria’s Super Eagles when both teams clash in Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier due to suspension and injuries.
Recall that the likes of Yohan Roche and Sessi D’Almeida will miss Nigeria’s clash with Benin due to accumulated yellow cards.
Rohr’s side is currently top of Group C with 17 points, and they are ahead of Nigeria and South Africa on the log.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Rohr said: “We have suspended players, two other players, now we miss five players because we already had two injured players.
“So it is not easy, we don’t have the same number of high-level players as you have here.
“But the team spirit is so good and the collective is strong, that we still can hope.”
The kick-off time for Nigeria vs Benin is 5 pm, Nigerian time.
