2027: ADC ranks swells in Lagos as conscience forum joins party
In a major political development ahead of the 2027 general election, the Conscience Forum, a grassroots political group, has been formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a well-attended ceremony in Lagos State.
The event which was held in Surulere was marked by strong declarations of unity and a renewed commitment to repositioning Nigeria through the ADC platform.
Party leaders and members pledged to work tirelessly towards victory at the polls and to move Nigeria forward.
Welcoming the Conscience Forum into the ADC family, George Ashiru, the ADC chairman in Lagos State emphasized the inclusive and progressive ideology of the party.
He reiterated the ADC’s slogan promising that the party would reposition the country, by running an inclusive government if it win the 2027 general election.

The Lagos chairman called for support for the party from Nigerians, especially youth and women, saying that the ADC would fight poverty and unemployment.
Ashiru praised the entry of the Conscience Forum as a divine addition to the party, noting that ADC has always been a home for all Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or background.
Our strength lies in our diversity. The ADC accommodates everyone Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and others because we believe in one Nigeria,” Ashiru said.
ADC Vehicle to Victory in 2027
In his address, leader of the Conscience Forum, Salvador described the ADC as the political vehicle that will drive credible leadership to the Lagos government house, the Lagos State House of Assembly, and the National Assembly.
He recounted the journey leading to the Conscience Forum’s affirmation into the ADC, describing it as a powerful and transformative process.
Salvador urged members to remain honest, sincere, and committed, warning against divisive and self-centered politics.
According to Salvador, this is a politics of conscience, not compromise, we will not lose.
“Let us embrace peace, unity, and dedication to the Nigerian project. My brothers and sisters—Ndigbo! Ngbo kwenu!we will work hard and make Nigeria great again!”
On her part, the national women leader, lasera Abel said everything in Nigeria has changed negative, urging party faithfuls not to be weary in fighting for the salvation of Nigeria.
She also said ADC is a party for the people who are ready to change the narrative, appealing to party the new members to work assiduously despite hostile nature of incumbent government to opposition.

She stated that she became a women leader because of her consistency and appealed to the new members to be equally consistent, visible, and spiritual.
Also speaking, Jide Adeniji, ADC leader in South East, said ADC is a party of the people insisting that their victory is certain in 2027.
“We are going to win this election and by the grace of God.
“A lot of people wiļl arise without shining but ADC will arise and shine because we are light,anywhere we are darkness must disappear”, he said.
He also reaffirmed that the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election is now in ADC.
Speaking on the decision to join the ADC, a member of the Conscience Forum from Ijaiye, who also serves as the President Igbo justice forum in Lagos,James okocha reflected on the group’s political journey.
He revealed that he and other leaders had previously encouraged Salvador to join the Labour Party, contributing to the party’s popularity in Lagos.
However, he lamented that sustainability and recognition in the LP became a problem, urging the ADC not to repeat the mistakes of past alliances.
“We worked hard then, but we were later sidelined. This time, we seek assurance that our efforts will be respected and our people will not be disregarded,” he said.
Other members echoed similar sentiments, expressing both their challenges and optimism.
Many pledged full commitment to ensuring ADC’s success at the polls, vowing to work tirelessly to take power from those who are desperate to retain it at the detriment of the citizens.
The event concluded with an interactive session, during which members raised various questions and concerns regarding local government challenges and strategies for grassroots mobilisation.

ADC leaders responded with assurances of continued engagement, unity, and transparency as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The affirmation of the Conscience Forum into the ADC is seen by political observers as a significant boost to the party’s grassroots structure and a major step toward consolidating its influence in Lagos and beyond.
The gathering featured top ADC executives, including Nkem Ukandu, National Welfare Secretary; Duru Festus, Lagos State Secretary; Bamidele Ajadi, Deputy National Chairman (Politics); Eze Emmanuel Opara Chukwu; Angela Andishu, Osodi-Isolo Woman Leader among others.
