Police recover four stolen vehicles, return them to owners in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has recovered four stolen motor vehicles and handed them over to their rightful owners.

The Command said the recoveries were made through intelligence-led operations and cooperation with members of the public, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the operations were carried out under the direction of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

The police said the recoveries were made between August 1 and September 1, 2026.

“Operatives from Dala Area Command arrested Surajo Usman Ubale and recovered a suspected stolen Dangote Trailer Head, with registration number  BKD 350 XB; operatives of Dawakin Kudu Division, through Inter-Divisional collaboration with Datty Division Lagos, traced and recovered a Toyota Matrix, with registration number ABJ 398 CG earlier reported stolen and handed it over to Muftahu Mohammed Ola of Minna; Market Division, acting on technical intelligence, arrested Abba S. Adam and recovered a Hyundai Sonata, Maroon, 2016 Model, with registration number GWA93DW stolen from Kaduna and handed it to Abubakar Muhammed Nura; while the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS), arrested Yunusa Mohammed, 33, and Muhammad Sani, 44, and recovered a Honda Civic, Golden, with registration number ABJ 232 EY, valued at N1,500,000 stolen at Sharada and handed it to a female owner. All suspects have confessed to the crimes and will be charged to court upon completion of investigation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate,” the Command added.

The Command said all the suspects arrested in connection with the recoveries had confessed to the crimes. They will be charged in court after investigations are completed, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the suspected syndicate who are still at large.
