Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has spoken on the responsibilities of women in marriages, revealing that he is not a strong advocate of marriage.

The actor, while speaking during an interview, claimed that women go through several changes and sacrifices in marriage, including bearing children and taking their husbands’ surnames.

Arukwe also explained that he believes women bear more of its responsibilities, particularly when it comes to childbirth and family expectations.

“I’ve never really been an advocate of marriage, because I feel like it’s more tasking for the woman. She’s the one that bears the child. She takes your last name. A lot of things happen. Growing up, you’re 25, you’re not married. What’s happening? At this age, I already have five children. I feel like now, there are women who don’t want to even have children. I’ve met at least two or three,” he stated.
