Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has made a bold claim about his role in afrobeats and its global reach.
The artist, while speaking in a recent interview with 3Music TV, boldly declared that he singlehandedly “saved” the genre in 2016.
Mr Eazi stressed that his entry into the music scene brought a breath of fresh air and life to Afrobeats.
“I saved Afrobeats in 2016,” he said.
Mr Eazi emerged as one of the most valuable and breakthrough artists in the Nigerian and African music industry in 2016. He also won the Next Rated at the 2016 Headies Awards.
