Tinubu kisses sacred Black Stone at Makkah (photos)
President Bola Tinubu kissed the Black Stone, known as Hajar al-Aswad, at the Holy Kaaba during his visit to Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The President kissed the stone before entering the Kaaba, adding to the religious activities undertaken during his visit to the holy city.
Located at a corner of the Kaaba within the Grand Mosque, the Black Stone marks the starting point for tawaf, the ritual circling of the sacred structure during Hajj and Umrah.
Tinubu had earlier performed Umrah on Friday, October 30, offering prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity and stability.
According to the Presidency, he also sought divine guidance for the country’s leaders and lasting relief from insecurity and other challenges.
At a dinner with members of his delegation on Sunday, the President prayed for Nigeria’s diversity to become a source of prosperity.
“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” he said.
BUA Group Chairman, Abdulsamad Rabiu, who accompanied Tinubu, said the visit had given members of the delegation an opportunity to pray for themselves, their families and Nigeria.
