Man Utd: Baleba faces long absence following injury
Manchester United midfielder, Carlos Baleba is set for a long absence after suffering a hamstring injury against Roma.
Baleba had limped off just moments into the second half of Tuesday’s 3-2 Champions League win at Old Trafford.
The team’s head coach, Michael Carrick, gave the update on November 6, 2026 at his Friday pre-match press conference at the Carrington training complex, ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa.
“We don’t know exactly, but it’ll be a number of weeks,” Carrick told reporters. “It’s definitely not this week and it won’t be any time over the international break. It’ll be a little bit longer than that.”
Carlos will now miss Sunday’s game and the November international break.
Despite win over Roma ended United’s nine-game winless run, Carrick said his players must use the result to build momentum with the team hovering just above the Premier League relegation zone ahead of Villa’s visit.
“It’s up to us to take it forward,” Carrick said. “It was a fantastic night. It was nice for the supporters to end like that and to have that feeling. Nothing’s done yet. Nothing is achieved yet, and it’s one moment in time that we need to use to move forward. But we need more of it, for sure.” he said.
