Former Edo State Commissioner for Digital Economy, Science and Technology, Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor, has alleged that Governor Monday Okpebholo is currently on vacation in Scotland.

Featuring on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television on Friday, Ifaluyi-Isibor, stated that they were not in Scotland for a $250 million investment deal as they claimed.

“First of all, let me apologize to Nigerians and also to the Edo people for the barrage of embarrassment that they have to suffer in the hands of the state government. It’s been back-to-back embarrassment and ridicule.

“There was really no $250 million investment deal. The governor and his aides actually went to Scotland for a vacation.

“In an attempt to impress the Edo people, they made it seem like they went to work. After they came back and got criticised, they came up with the narrative of a deal.

“I can tell you that the governor might not even be aware of such a deal. Upon getting to Nigeria, and seeing how Edo people have criticized his frivolous trips, then two or three days later, they came up with such an investment deal.

“And trust the Edo people; the smart people went to investigate and realized that there was really no such deal,” the former Commissioner said.
