Benue ambush: Supercop Dan Zuru buried in Kebbi
The remains of Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Danlami Usman, popularly known as Dan Zuru, have been laid to rest in his hometown, Jambirmi, in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The 53-year-old gallant officer, who lost his life in an ambush by bandits in Benue State, was buried on Saturday morning following a solemn funeral attended by family members, friends, and senior police officers.
Before the burial, a wake-keep was held at his residence in the Mobile Police Barracks, Adeke, Makurdi. His body was later conveyed from the Benue State University Teaching Hospital on October 3, 2025, for interment in Kebbi.
During the ceremony, colleagues and mourners paid heartfelt tributes, remembering ASP Usman as a courageous officer, a devoted family man, and a patriotic Nigerian who served the nation with integrity and dedication.
His death has been described as a monumental loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the entire country.
