NPFL: Eguma blames missed chances for Enyimba draw with Rivers United

Enyimba technical adviser Stanley Eguma says his team’s poor marksmanship cost them a win against Rivers United on Sunday, DAILY POST reports.

The People’s Elephant were held to a 0-0 draw by Finidi George’s men in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday seven encounter in Aba.

Enyimba dominated the keenly contested encounter but failed to convert their chances.

Eguma however praised his players for giving their best in the game.

“It’s a good game, a very interesting one that contains all the trappings of a grade A Premier League match. My players gave their best, but we were wasteful in front of the goal,” Eguma said after the game.

“In the first half, we created several clear chances that could have made the difference, but we just couldn’t take them.”

Enyimba maintained second position on the NPFL table despite the stalemate.

The nine-time champions will take on Kun Khalifat FC in their next game.
