Police Seek Family of Dumb Man Found in Modakeke, Osun
A dumb man wandering in Modakeke, Osun state has been rescued by the Osun State Police Command.
The Command used the opportunity to call on members of the public to assist in locating the family of the dumb man.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the man was discovered at Adelola Area, Modakeke, on October 3, 2025.
According to the statement, “The found person is a male who is unable to speak and was dressed in a campala outfit when he was discovered.”
The police described the man as “dark in complexion, without any tribal marks, and approximately 3.4 feet tall.”
He was also said to “have an oval-shaped face, which could assist relatives or members of the public in identifying him.”
DSP Ojelabi stated that the police were making efforts to trace his relatives and had issued the public notice to assist in reuniting the man with his family.
“The relatives of the above person shown on the screen are enjoined to contact the Divisional Police Headquarters, Modakeke Division, or the Family Unit, Oke-Fia, Osun State,” the statement read.
The Command urged anyone with useful information about the man or his family to report to the nearest police station in the state.
