Bandits K!ll Pastor in Kwara After Payment of Ransom, Abduct Village Head in Fresh Attack

Reverend James Audu Issa, a pastor with the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) has been k!lled by bandits.
The incident happened in Ekati village in Patigi local government area of the state.
He was k!lled after the payment of ransom to the bandits by his relatives.
Vanguard reports that the the cleric was abducted on August 28 and afterwards demanded for N100 million ransom.
They however bargained to N5 million with the family members who paid the money. Sadly, they k!lled him after the family members paid the ransom.
Meanwhile, suspected kidnappers attacked Rani village on Sunday evening October 6, and kidnapped two persons including the village head while the villagers were about to observe Maghrib,the evening prayer.
Eyewitnesses say the assailants k!lled two persons before taking away the village head and one person.
Sources close to the town said that the development has created serious fear in the village, as the assailants have yet to get in touch with the families of the victims for the payment of ransom.
A senior police officer with the Patigi Divisional Police Office in Patigi who confirmed the incident said
“We have informed the state police command for further action and to ensure the rescue of the victims.”
