Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the composition of new statutory boards as part of his administration’s efforts to enhance institutional efficiency and promote sustainable development across the state.
The newly reconstituted boards include the Benue State University Teaching Hospital and the Public Procurement Commission.
At the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Malu Orkurga Abraham has been appointed Chairman, while Dr. Stephen Hwande serves as Chief Medical Director.
Other members are Mr. Terhemba Ingyomon, Dr. Emmanuel Orhemba Baki, and Rt. Hon. Frank Adejor Audu, alongside representatives of the medical profession, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Council, and a representative of the Vice Chancellor.
For the Public Procurement Commission, the Executive Governor will serve as Chairman, with Dr. Aper Emmanuel Zava appointed as Director General. The Deputy Governor and Commissioners are also members of the commission.
Governor Alia urged the newly appointed officials to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He reminded them to align their work with his administration’s blueprint, “A Strategic Development Plan for a Greater Benue,” which encapsulates his seven-point agenda under the acronym SACHIIP.
