NPFL: Ashifat blames defensive blunder fie Kwara United’s loss to Kano Pillars


Kwara United interim head coach, Ashifat Suleiman has blamed defensive mistake for his team’s narrow defeat to Kano Pillars.

The Harmony Boys suffered a 1-0 defeat Kano Pillars in a rescheduled matchday six fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday.

Veteran midfielder, Rabiu Ali netted the only goal in the game in the first half.

Suleiman assured that his team will focus on improving their performance in subsequent games.

“Our plan here was to get maximum points but things didn’t work out in our favour. The league is a marathon, and we’ll bounce back stronger,” Suleiman told Kwara United’s media.

Kwara United dropped to 13th position on the NPFL table with eighth points from seven matches.

They will be up against Wikki Tourist t at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi this weekend.
