Nnaji Should Be Prosecuted – Laolu Akande

Laolu Akande, former spokesman to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has demanded that former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji be prosecuted.
Recall that Nnaji recently resigned his position over alleged certificate forgery.
Akande made this call on Thursday, while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a programme on Channels Television.
This comes after the minister resigned from his position following some allegations of certificate forgery against him.
Nnaji had also said that his resignation from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet is not an admission of guilt but a mark of respect for due process.
Reacting, Akande said, “There is a good feeling that you have the minister resigning quite quickly after Premium Times did the story and made the whole thing known. It’s good that the minister resigned.
“We need to go to the extreme of the matter even in the interest of Nnaji himself. There has to be a criminal prosecution because the University of Nigeria, Nsukka said it did not issue him a certificate but he is insisting that the school did. So I don’t know whether it’s a civil case that can solve the matter.
“I think there has to be a pursuit of justice ultimately. The fact that he resigned, in my view, is not enough.”
