He has big personality – Roy Keane names manager Man Utd should appoint as Amorim’s replacement

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane wants his old club to appoint Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone as their new head coach if they decide to sack Ruben Amorim in the near future.

Amorim is under pressure at Man United due to the club’s poor performances so far in the Premier League this season.

The Portuguese has also faced constant questions about whether his tactical system is suitable for the Red Devils squad.

Amorim’s side has not been consistent, as they have recorded 10 points from seven matches.

However, Keane believes Simeone, who has won two La Liga titles, two Europa League trophies, and has reached the Champions League final on two different occasions with Atletico Madrid, would be the perfect manager to coach Man United.

According to the Irishman, the Argentine has a big personality.

“I have said it for years, I would like to see Atletico Madrid’s Simeone go in there [Manchester United], I would like to see him go in there,” Keane said on The Overlap.

“I think he would walk up to that place and say, ‘Hey, this is how you do things

“Obviously, it is no guarantee, but I would just like to see his personality, his track record.

“People might think styles of football… they beat Real Madrid, they scored five last week, this idea he is defensive, yeah, he does not like his team giving up too many goals or chances, but they can play a bit.

“He is still on the sideline, causing… he got sent off that night. I would like a big personality.”
