N100bn Loan: PDP blackmail won’t derail my leadership – Benue Gov, Alia

Benue State Governor, Fr Hyacinth Alia has said that political blackmail by by his opponents will not derail the ongoing transformation of the state as he remains focused on his mission.

Gov Alia stated this through a statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula in response to criticism by the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP over the 100 billion naira loan approved by the State House of Assembly for him.

Alia said his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to transparent governance, infrastructural renewal, and the welfare of the Benue people.

He insisted that the loan will not be misused but invested in projects that directly improve lives, enhance productivity, and restore Benue’s pride as the Food Basket of the Nation.

“Contrary to the PDP propaganda, Benue’s debt profile remains within sustainable limits, and every kobo of the ₦100 billion facility will be tied to verifiable and people-oriented Projects”.

He pointed out that the House of Assembly’s unanimous approval reflects an understanding of the critical infrastructural deficit inherited and confidence in his capacity to deliver.

Gov Alia urged the PDP to set aside bitterness and face the reality that Benue is now on a path of responsible governance
