We have no intention to encroach on your land- Broadcast station replies Oyo NUJ

The management of Dominion Broadcast station has denied allegations of encroaching on a parcel of land belonging to the Oyo State council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The broadcast station made the clarification in a statement issued on Sunday.

Our correspondent reports that the Oyo NUJ, had during its emergency congress issued a communique alleging that the station was encroaching on its land.

The NUJ in the communique called the attention of the state government and security agencies to the situation.

But, the station in its reaction claimed its intention was to explore partnership opportunities that could strengthen both institutions and enhance the quality of media service delivery in the community.

The station in a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Femi Adefila, insisted that the intention was not to encroach on the NUJ land.

He added that the management of the station will resolve the matter amicably with the NUJ.

“Dominion Broadcast Group has no interest whatsoever in forceful acquisition or trespass of the said property. Rather, our approach to the NUJ was in good faith, seeking a mutually beneficial partnership that would promote the growth of the media ecosystem in Oyo State and beyond.

“We therefore wish to reaffirm that our intention was not to encroach, but to explore partnership opportunities that could strengthen both institutions and enhance the quality of media service delivery in our community.

Dominion Broadcast Group remains open to dialogue and constructive engagement with the NUJ, Oyo State Council, to resolve any concerns amicably and foster a positive working relationship moving forward”.
