Real Madrid eye Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as long-term midfield target

Real Madrid are reportedly weighing a move for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as Los Blancos continue their search for long-term midfield reinforcements following the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

The departures of Kroos in 2024 and Modric in 2025 have created a creative void in Madrid’s midfield.

Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for a British record £106.8 million, is said to be highly admired by Madrid’s hierarchy.

The Argentine World Cup winner has consistently impressed in the Premier League, showcasing the technical quality, composure, and vision that fit the profile of a modern Madrid midfielder.

His form has reportedly strengthened Los Blancos’ interest as they plan their next phase of midfield evolution.

Any potential deal would demand a massive fee well above £100 million, a valuation Real Madrid are reluctant to meet given their current financial strategy and ongoing investments in other areas of the squad.
