FreeNnamdiKanu: Tinubu suppressing S’East, should release Kanu’s lawyer, brother – Idam

Activist lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, on Wednesday, accused President Bola Tinubu of suppressing the Southeast.

Idam charged Tinubu to redeem his image by releasing Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and others arrested during the freeNnamdiKanu protest on Monday.

In a statement he signed, the activist lawyer insisted that their detention was grossly unwarranted.

He said: “At this point, one is tempted to believe that the resentment against people of the Southeast extraction is real.

“Otherwise, why should Nnamdi Kanu’s brother and lawyer be arrested and detained merely for peacefully protesting his continued detention, especially at a time when convicted criminals had just been pardoned and released?

“Why is the federal government irked about the southeast? I least expected that President Tinubu would show interest in Mr. Kanu’s continued detention when he assumed office.

“The detention of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, his lawyer, and others simply for peacefully protesting his continued detention is a clear case of unbridled suppression of the people of the southeast.

“President Tinubu must quickly redeem the image of his administration by releasing these people. Their detention is grossly unwarranted and uncalled for.”
