EEDC cancels planned 10 days power outage in Enugu
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has announced the cancellation of the planned 10-day power outage earlier scheduled to affect parts of Enugu State.
The company said the outage, which was initially fixed to run from Wednesday, October 22, to Friday, October 31, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, has been suspended due to unforeseen technical constraints.
Emeka Ezeh, Head of Communications at EEDC, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the decision followed communication from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.
DAILY POST reported that MEDL had last Monday announced a planned power outage in parts of Enugu metropolis from Wednesday.
The planned outage was to affect several 33KV feeders on a rotational basis, including Kingsway Lines 1 and 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, Ugwuogo, and Ituku Ozalla.
Ezeh added that a new schedule for the maintenance exercise will be announced once confirmed, while apologising to customers for any inconvenience caused by the change.
