Police arrest two suspected robbers, recover firearm, motorcycle in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a firearm and a stolen motorcycle in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement on Sunday, Ahmed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, said the arrest followed a distress call from Adamu Abdullahi of Gandum Wambai, Azare, reporting that gunmen had invaded his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills, and carted away his motorcycle.

The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Hassan Babangida and 27-year-old Abdullahi Hussaini, both from Hanafari village in Jama’are Local Government Area, were later apprehended by police operatives with support from local vigilantes.

Wakil quoted Sani Omolori Aliyu, the state Commissioner of Police, as commending the operatives and community members for their swift collaboration, describing it as a reflection of the command’s proactive stance against crime.
