EPL: Alan Pardew names Arsenal’s biggest rival in title race

Former West Ham manager, Alan Pardew, has said Manchester City will be Arsenal’s biggest rivals in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners are currently four points clear at the top of the table.

But they hold a six-point gap over City, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Sunday.

Arsenal are also seven points ahead of defending champions Liverpool.

Despite the loss at Villa Park, Pardew still expects Man City to mount a “big challenge” for the title.

“You can’t but fear Man City making a challenge, I think there’s a big challenge in them even though they lost at Aston Villa, I really do,” Pardew said on talkSPORT.

“The only worry is if they’re too reliant on Haaland, who’s really on form but is still going to need others to pitch in.”
