Here are Nigerian artists nominated for 2026 Grammys
Nigerian artists earned several nominations, primarily in Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album. This continues the rise of Afrobeats in global recognition. The Best African Music Performance category, added in 2023, has included Nigerian works each year.
The Recording Academy revealed the nominees for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on November 7, 2025. The nominations cover music released between September 16, 2024, and August 31, 2025, across 95 categories. The event is set for February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
In Best African Music Performance, Burna Boy is nominated for “Love.” Davido and Omah Lay earned a nod for “With You.” Ayra Starr and Wizkid are up for “Gimme Dat.” Other nominees include “Hope & Love” by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, and “PUSH 2 START” by Tyla.
Burna Boy also received a nomination in Best Global Music Album for “No Sign of Weakness.” The full category includes “Sounds Of Kumbha” by Siddhant Bhatia, “Eclairer le monde: Light the World” by Youssou N’Dour, “Mind Explosion (50th Anniversary Tour Live)” by Shakti, “Chapter III: We Return To Light” by Anoushka Shankar featuring Alam Khan and Sarathy Korwar, and “Caetano e Bethânia Ao Vivo” by Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.
In Best Global Music Performance, nominees are “EoO” by Bad Bunny, “Cantando en el Camino” by Ciro Hurtado, “JERUSALEMA” by Angélique Kidjo, “Inmigrante Y Que?” by Yeisy Rojas, “Shrini’s Dream (Live)” by Shakti, and “Daybreak” by Anoushka Shankar featuring Alam Khan and Sarathy Korwar. No Nigerian artist appears here, unlike in 2023 and 2025 when Burna Boy was nominated.
Burna Boy now holds seven consecutive Grammy nominations, from 2020 to 2026. Davido reaches five total nominations with this entry. Wizkid has six overall, including this collaboration.
Artists like Rema, Seyi Vibez, Bnxn, Moliy, Shallipopi, and Asake submitted works but did not receive nods.
Kendrick Lamar tops the list with nine nominations. Lady Gaga has seven, and Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, and Leon Thomas each have six. These lead in major categories like Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
The Academy received 1,015 Song of the Year entries, a record. Over 11,000 voting members selected nominees. A second round will choose winners.
Past Nigerian wins include Burna Boy’s 2021 Best Global Music Album and Wizkid’s 2021 feature on Beyoncé’s project. Full lists are on grammy.com.
