All passengers feared dead as plane carrying foreign tourists crash in Kenya

Tragedy struck in Kenya on Tuesday, when an aircraft carrying at least twelve passengers reportedly crashed.

According to CNN, the aircraft crashed about 20 minutes after takeoff from the Diani airstrip in Kenya’s coastal Kwale region on Tuesday morning.

Authorities confirmed that the ill-fated plane burst into flames and left all onboard feared dead.

Officials said the Cessna Caravan-type plane, operated by Mombasa Air Safari, was en route to the Maasai Mara National Reserve when the incident happened.

The plane went down in a “hilly and forested area about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Diani airstrip.”

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, also confirmed in a statement that “12 people were onboard the Cessna Caravan-type aircraft”, when it crashed.
