Anger, tension in Ondo community over death of 10 persons crushed by truck
There is tension in Akungba-Akoko community, following the accident that claimed a pregnant woman, a lady and her child as well as seven others by a truck on Wednesday.
Residents have continued to express their anger over the incident that occured few meters from the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA.
Community members have now barricaded the busy Akungba-Ikare road to register their displeasure.
According to the residents, urgent measures must be taken by the government to prevent further loss of lives.
One of the resident, who gave his name as Biodun, revealed that the casualty figure would have been more if the university had been in session.
For another resident, Bola Akinola, “We actually thought what we experienced on Wednesday will never happen again but it is quite unfortunate that we are still witnessing this.
“A man lost his wife and son. Do you think it is pleasant? The government should intervene quickly. As in, immediately.
Meanwhile, as of press time, efforts were ongoing to evacuate the wrecked truck from the scene of the accident.
