Liverpool manager Arne Slot remains secure in his position despite the Reds’ 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield, according to Daily Star.

The defeat marks Liverpool’s sixth loss in their last seven games, which has intensified scrutiny following a sharp decline in form.

After beginning the season with seven straight victories across all competitions, Slot’s side now sit seventh in the Premier League and are out of the League Cup.

Despite growing frustration among fans, Liverpool’s hierarchy continues to back Slot, whose league title triumph in his debut season earned him strong credit within the club. Sources indicate there are no immediate plans for a managerial change.

Slot opted to rest several key players for the Palace clash, prioritising upcoming fixtures against Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. However, the heavy defeat came just days after a 3-2 loss to Brentford, further denting the Reds’ title defence.

“It’s not Liverpool standards to lose six out of seven,” Slot admitted.

“But with the squad we’re having, maybe 15 or 16 first-team players available, this is the choice I’ve made. The pressure is already very high for the upcoming week, where we again have to face three very difficult teams.”
