ASUBEB warns Abia public as fake employment adverts circulate in LGAs

Abia State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, has reacted to the trending teaching job offers circulating online, describing the advertisement as fake.

One of the fake employment offers requests applicants interested in a fresh round of teaching jobs, particularly in rural areas of Arochukwu LGA and some other LGAs, to apply.

Following the fake report, some unsuspecting job seekers started inundating government educational agencies to confirm if the offer emanated from them.

But responding to the issue, Uzomaka Amah-Mbah, who signed on behalf of the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, said that the directive did not emanate from its office and should be discountenanced.

“The attention of the Board has been drawn to the circulation of a fake circular at different LGEAs, urging prospective teachers willing to teach in the rural areas to submit applications for employment.

“Please note that such a directive did not come from either the executive chairman or the board and, as such, should be discountenanced,” the statement said.

She explained that the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, in collaboration with ASUBEB and SEMB, will officially inform the general public through the right channels whenever the second batch of recruitment will commence.
