BBC Veteran Opens Up, Reveals Past Romance With S*x Worker

David Hamilton

Veteran BBC broadcaster David Hamilton, affectionately known as “Diddy,” has revealed that he once “fell in love” with a s*x worker during a difficult period in his life.

Hamilton, now 87, was a household name in the 1970s as a presenter on Radio 1 and Top of the Pops.

He married makeup artist Sheila Moore at 24, and the couple had two children, Jane and David Jr.

Though he described the marriage as “happy,” Hamilton admitted that parenthood changed their relationship.

He recalled in an interview with Best magazine on Wednesday.

“I went to meet her at Liverpool Street station.

“She was sitting on her suitcase wearing a fur coat, which she told me later she’d borrowed. I just looked at her and thought, wow. I think if anything spoils a marriage, it’s children. Suddenly, the man is taking a back seat.”

It was during this period that Hamilton met Roz, a woman he later discovered was a s*x worker. The pair began an affair that lasted four years.

“My wife found out because I talked about Roz a lot. I was head over heels. I left my wife and children, and we lived together for four years,” Hamilton admitted.

He said he even supported Roz in starting a small business.

“We became very fond of each other, but I was getting in too deep,”
he said.

The relationship eventually ended, and in 1993 Hamilton married his second wife, Dreena, a decade after they were introduced on a blind date.

Despite early warnings that Hamilton was a “womaniser,” Dreena accepted his proposal, and the pair have remained together since.

Hamilton described her as “the wind beneath my wings.”

In 2022, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with polycythaemia vera, a rare blood cancer that causes overproduction of red blood cells.

“Everybody who sees me says how well I look.

“Too many red blood cells give you a very rosy complexion, so it looks like you’ve got a sun tan,” he told The Daily Mail at the time.
