Diallo stunner rescues Man United in 2-2 draw at City Ground
Amad Diallo produced a moment of brilliance to earn Manchester United a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, halting Red Devils three-match winning run.
With United trailing and nine minutes remaining, Diallo smashed home a superb left-foot volley from the edge of the box after Nikola Milenkovic’s header fell kindly into his path.
The Ivorian winger nearly snatched victory deep into stoppage time, but his close-range effort was cleared off the line by Murillo.
United had earlier taken the lead through Casemiro’s first-half header, but Forest, who had not scored a league goal since September 20, hit back with two quickfire goals after the break. Morgan Gibbs-White scored the equaliser in the 48th minute before Nicolo Savona completed the turnaround moments later.
However, Diallo’s late strike ensured Ruben Amorim’s side escaped with a point, maintaining their recent revival under the Portuguese coach.
For Sean Dyche’s Forest, there were positives despite remaining in the relegation zone, four points adrift of safety.
