EFCC Has No Case Against Akpabio – Aide
Kenny Okolugbo, Media Aide to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has refuted claims that his principal is facing any case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Okolugbo made this clarification on Saturday, when he appeared in an interview programme on Arise Television.
Recall that a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adetokunbo Pearse had alleged that Akpabio has criminal cases pending with the EFCC.
Reacting, the Senate President’s aide said, “Pearse was quite irresponsible with his comments about Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“His allegations that Akpabio is a criminal, has cases pending with the EFCC, and poses a threat to women in the Senate are totally uncalled for.
“We have sent a letter to Adetokunbo Pearse giving him three days to retract his statements and issue a public apology on national television and in the daily press.
“If he fails to do so within three days, we will take further action to ensure that people stop using the Senate President as a punching bag,” he said.
