Excitement sweeps through Alesa Eleme as land papers arrive to begin world smart city


Mayor of Housing, My-ACE China, speaking in faraway Uyo in Akwa Ibom State about the jubilations back at Elesa Eleme over the certificate of occupancy and double Christmas for the Alesa community .


Christmas has already started in the Alesa Eleme near Port Harcourt in Rivers State where each family got a got, a bag of ice, drinks, cash awards, and other items with a cow for barbecue.

This caused hueg excitement as the community celebrated the arrival of the much-awaited certificate of occupancy to cover a large section of empty land earmarked for a world class city to be called the Alesa Highlands Green Smart City.

Already, a road from Port Harcourt is tearing to the new city which sits between Port Harcourt and the Refinery in Eleme.

The community said the decision of Gov Sim Fubara to sign and award the certificate of occupancy (CofO) of the large expance of land would kickstart development of the new city. Thus, the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Alesa Highlands, youths leaders, and other indigenes of Alesa in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State rolled out the drums to celebrate positive development and to be the first community to kickstart their 2025 Christmas.

They commended the man behind the new city, My-ACE China, who is known as the Mayor of Housing.

‎The get-together was organized by the Mayor of Housing to appreciate the families who he said relinguished their portions of land for the development of Alesa and celebrate the issuance of the land papers despite the initial challenges that faced the company.

‎Addressing the BoT and other stakeholders at the event, Emmanuel Olaka, Chairman of the BoT of Alesa Highlands Green Smart City, reiterated that My-Ace China was not a land grabber, rather a developer who he said has interest of Alesa at heart.

‎Olaka described the Mayor of Housing as the most honest property developer that has ever approached the people of Alesa, saying the company was not intending to buy and sell the land, but develop the property for purposes of attracting more business and investment opportunities that would create jobs for the people and boost the economy of Alesa and the entire Eleme LGA.

‎He also disclosed that the Mayor of Housing was set to build the largest shopping complex in Africa in Alesa Eleme, a flagship project of the company he said would transform the economic landscape and fortune of Alesa.

‎He further announced the decision of the Mayor of Housing to sponsor the Alesa Football Competition and End of Year Carnival coming up in December to promote peace and unity among the people of Alesa.

‎The BoT chairman also used the occasion to commend Gov Fubara for standing by the people of Alesa in issuing the CofO to Mayor of Housing and as such, by so doing putting an end to all controversies surrounding the activities of Mayor of Housing in Alesa.

‎He described the decision of Gov Fubara as a demonstration of his commitment to ensuring sustainable development in Alesa, assuring him of the continuous support of the leadership and people of Alesa Eleme.

‎Olaka called on all indigenes of Alesa to set aside their differences and support the Mayor of Housing in the quest to develop Alesa to avoid a repeat of past mistakes by their forefathers which led to the underdevelopment of Alesa.

‎He said: “Today, the people Alesa are blaming our fathers and forefathers for their failure to attract development to the communities when the federal government brought the Refinery to Alesa. Today, the Mayor of Housing is here, and we cannot afford the same mistakes”.

‎Speaking, Emperor JD Nkpeh, the paramount ruler of Elesa Eleme, represented by Mbaollor Dibia, the Palace Administrative Secretary, Alesa Community, said that findings proved that this particular property developer was a credible one whose coming would propel Alesa community to an enviable height.

‎Nkpeh said that he was optimistic that the entry of Mayor of Housing into Alesa would enhance rapid development that would ensure that Alesa competed favourably with other developed cities like Lagos and Abuja.

‎The paramount ruler also commended Gov Fubara for issuing the Certificate of Occupancy to Mayor of Housing and described the action of the State Governor as a testament to his commitment to development getting to every part of Rivers State.

‎Another prominent personality and chief, Emmanuel Osarollor, who is the Vice Chairman Board of Trustees of the Alesa Highlands Green Smart City, said that the people were excited with the coming of the Major of Housing due to the high prospect it holds for the populace.

‎He confirmed that the people of Alesa were convinced and excited with the gesture of the Mayor of Housing who he said was already delivering on his promises by providing all that is needed for the community to have a swell time together.

‎Osarollor also confirmed that the items such as bags rice, gallons of vegetable oil, live goats, and other items distributed to the families who gave up their lands for the project were for the 2024 party which he said could not hold last year due to the battle for certificate of occupancy.

‎He also emphasized that more was coming to people of Alesa in 2025, as the Mayor of Housing has assured the people of his readiness to make good his promises.

‎On his part, George Igwe, a chief and Secretary, Board of Trustee Alesa Highlands, called on the people of Alesa to support the projects of Mayor of Housing as company has come to make Alesa great again.

‎Igwe said that the projects of Mayor of Housing would impact Alesa community and the entire Eleme positively through contracts, job creation, and through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

‎Another chief, Friday Ajilo Okereke, a community head and a member of Land Committee in Alesa, said that they have seen the readiness of Mayor of Housing to develop the area and assured him of the support of the people to ensure smooth operation in Alesa.

‎Okereke said that the Mayor of Housing has a great prospect in the area as the people of Alesa and Eleme in general were ready to do business with him, and also ensure that he succeed in the quest to develop Alesa.
