FCT School: Instead of commendation, Peter Obi received condemnation – AMAC chairmanship candidate

Chairmanship candidate of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the forthcoming Council election of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Moses Paul, has lamented that the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, received condemnation instead of commendation over his comment on public primary schools in Abuja.
Paul stated this on Sunday, while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television, monitored by DAILY.

This followed Obi’s criticism of the government over the appalling condition of public schools in the nation’s capital.

Obi, who toured the LEA Primary School in Kapwa, Abuja, alongside Paul, said he was shocked to find classrooms without chairs or toilets — a scene he said no responsible nation should tolerate.

Reacting to the some people’s condemnation of Obi, the ADC AMAC chairmanship candidate said, “It’s striking that individuals like Peter Obi, who bring attention to critical issues, are met with insults and criticism rather than commendation.

“A primary school in FCT lacks basic facilities: no windows, children sitting on the floor, and inadequate toilets for staff and pupils.

“This situation persists in the FCT, where children were out of school for months due to the disappearance of over N4 billion, prompting protests. There’s a pressing need for change in AMAC’s leadership,” he said.
