FG formally launches job placement program for 20,000 individuals in key sectors
The Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria has officially opened applications for the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) 2.0, an initiative aiming to create 20,000 jobs annually for young Nigerians.
The development, was confirmed by Dada Olusegun, the special assistant to the President on Social Media, via his official X account.
The NJFP 2.0 is being spearheaded in collaboration with the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The initiative’s core purpose is to connect high-potential graduates with invaluable real-world work experience, comprehensive training, and mentorship, effectively bridging the critical gap between academic learning and professional earning.
The programme’s relaunch is a major push by the administration to empower the nation’s youth and foster inclusive economic expansion.
Kashim Shettima, vice president of Nigeria has previously inaugurated the Project Steering Committee at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, ahead of the formal announcement.
During the official launch, the vice president reaffirmed the government’s commitment, stating that the Nigerian government plans to invest $220 in creating employment opportunities.

Targeting key economic sectors
Under this new phase, the government plans to deploy 24,000 fellows over the next ten months across several key sectors crucial for national growth. These include: Agriculture, digital technology, renewable energy, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
The programme seeks to directly address the challenge of graduate unemployment by offering placements in host organisations nationwide.
This strategy provides crucial experience, builds essential skills, and ultimately prepares the workforce of the future.
The initial phase of the programme saw over 14,000 young Nigerians benefit from a 12-month paid fellowship, implemented in partnership with the UNDP and funded by the EU.
