GOtv Boxing Night: Fatodu hails organisers for promoting Nigerian boxing
The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, has commended the organisers of GOtv Boxing Night for their consistency and outstanding contribution to the revival of boxing in Nigeria.
Fatodu gave the commendation when a delegation from Flykite Productions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, paid him a courtesy visit at his office at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday.

The visit was to formally inform the Commission of plans for the 34th edition of the event, billed for December 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.
Describing GOtv Boxing Night as “one of the most enduring private-sector initiatives in Nigerian sports,” Fatodu lauded the organisers for rekindling public interest in boxing and creating opportunities for young fighters to showcase their talents.
“What GOtv Boxing Night has achieved over the years deserves every form of support,” Fatodu said. “It has given life back to Nigerian boxing and consistently delivered world-class entertainment to fans. As a state that prides itself on sporting excellence, Lagos is proud to be associated with this initiative.”
Fatodu pledged the Lagos State Sports Commission’s full support for the upcoming edition, assuring that the government would continue to partner with credible private promoters to grow the sports ecosystem.
“Our vision is to make Lagos the sports capital of Africa, and partnerships like this help to drive that goal. We will provide the necessary institutional backing to ensure the event continues to thrive,” he added.
Earlier, Bamidele Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Flykite Productions, thanked the Commission for its continued support, noting that Lagos has been the home of GOtv Boxing Night since its inception due to its world-class facilities and passionate fans.
