Gov Alia hasn’t borrowed a kobo since taking office – BSEMA Boss, Iorpuu

The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA), Dr. James Iorpuu, has hailed Governor Hyacinth Alia for what he described as an exemplary display of fiscal discipline and accountability in governance.

Addressing journalists in Makurdi, Dr. Iorpuu stated that since assuming office, Governor Alia has not borrowed a single kobo from any financial institution a feat he said reflects purposeful leadership and sound economic management.

“For the governor to have not borrowed money from any financial institution since assumption of office is a clear indication of purposeful leadership and accountability,” he declared.

The BSEMA boss, who also doubles as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, emphasized that Alia’s leadership style has restored confidence in the state’s administration, noting that his prudent financial management has allowed the government to focus on critical developmental priorities without increasing the state’s debt burden.

He dismissed claims by an independent assessor that rated the Alia-led government as average, insisting that the governor has performed far beyond expectations.
