Gov Yusuf dissolves Kano Consumer Protection Council Board

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.

According to a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Musa Tanko Muhammad, the decision followed a prolonged leadership crisis that has persisted in the council despite several efforts to restore peace and ensure smooth administration.

“With this directive, the Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all members of the Board, including Ex-Officio members, are hereby relieved of their appointments with immediate effect,” the statement said.

The SSG, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, also directed all affected officials to hand over the affairs of their offices and all government properties in their possession to the most senior officer of the council by the close of work on Monday, October 27, 2025.

He added that all handover documents should be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government — Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs Directorate — as well as to the Commissioner for Investment and Commerce.
