I Can’t Go to Campus Anymore – Fola Laments As He Talks About His Struggle With Fame

Nigerian singer Folarin Odunlami aka Fola has revealed his struggles with fame.

This is as he recounted how he spent all his money on a music project in 2022 with the hope of gaining prominence, but the investment failed.

According to him, going back to school after fame has become challenging.

The ‘Alone’ crooner stated that even his coursemates didn’t know him back then, but now he can’t go to campus because of fame.

Fola disclosed this in a snippet of his documentary with Spotify’s Radar.

“Music matters so much to me because it is such an amazing thing that you can speak to and touch someone without even meeting them in person.

“2022, I can’t forget. I put all my money on a music project but I didn’t blow. Before, if I went to the campus, people didn’t even recognise my presence. But just one year down the line, I can’t even enter school anymore because of fame,” he expressed.

Fola gained prominence after he was signed to famous singer Bella Shmurda’s Dagbana Republik in October 2024.

Since releasing his breakthrough song ‘Alone’, Fola has collaborated with Afrobeats stars such as Wizkid and Kizz Daniel.
