Kiara Rice Mills Reaffirms Commitment to Food Security with World Food Day 2025 Community Outreach
In commemoration of World Food Day 2025, Kiara Rice Mills Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading producers of premium-quality rice, has reaffirmed its commitment to community development and food security through a 2-day CSR outreach initiative with the distribution of over 1600 packs of rice to students across Kpatsuwa and Mokwa communities in Niger State.
In alignment with the theme for this year’s World Food Day, themed “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, Kiara Rice Mills celebrated the day by nourishing and supporting young minds and bodies with food distribution while empowering the next generation and strengthening local communities through it’s CSR initiative.
The outreach engaged over 1,600 secondary school students across six institutions, including: Kpatsuwa Government Secondary School, Mungo Park Secondary School, Jebba, Government Vocational Training Centre, Jebba, Government Girls College, Mokwa, New Era College, Mokwa and Government Technical College, Mokwa
The initiative featured the distribution of Kiara rice packs to students, interactive sessions on food and nutrition, community engagement activities in collaboration with school authorities, community heads, and local education boards.
Through this effort, Kiara Rice Mills seeks to provide nourishment to students as well as foster awareness about nutrition and food security for children.
Speaking during the CSR activities, Chinaza Ahamefula, Brand Manager, Kiara Rice Mills Limited, stated, “Our mission is to commemorate World Food Day by spreading nourishment, knowledge, and care to young students within our host communities by encouraging them to value local food production and understand their role in shaping a food-secure future”.
Continuing, “the goal is to further create awareness about good nutrition in children in order to guarantee a heathy future”. He said.
