Man abducted from Abuja found dead in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Police Command has recovered the body of a man earlier kidnapped in Abuja. The victim was found with gunshot injuries along Kabode Road in Kachia Local Government Area of the state.
Zagazola Makama reports that the discovery was made on October 21 after the Village Head of Iseme Kachia, Halilu Ayuba, reported the incident to the authorities.
A resident, Jamilu Danazumi of Kabode Village, was said to have found the body around noon while traveling to Kachia. The victim, who sustained a fatal bullet wound to the chest, was discovered near the Nigerian Army Exercise Camp along Kabode Road.
Police said a piece of paper containing two phone numbers was found in the victim’s pocket. When contacted, the numbers led investigators to the victim’s relatives, who revealed that he had been kidnapped on October 2 at Bukwa Village in Abuja.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, alongside other security agencies, visited the scene and evacuated the victim to the General Hospital in Kachia, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
His body was later deposited at the hospital morgue, while police recovered an empty AK-47 shell from the scene as evidence.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed that the victim’s family has been notified, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
