Most important game of my career — Chelle speaks on Super Eagles vs Cheetahs
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has declared that tonight’s clash with Benin Republic is the most important game of his career as coach.
The Malian is looking to guide the Super Eagles to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria will host neighbours, Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, today, Tuesday, knowing that nothing but a win will put them in contention to secure a place at the mundial.
Chelle claimed he was looking forward to the game with excitement.
“For me, as a coach, it’s maybe the most important game of my career,” Chelle said during Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“I’m happy, I’m excited, sometimes a little nervous but I like the pressure. ”
The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigerian time.
