NAF reshuffles senior officers as new Air Chief moves to strengthen command structure
Sunday Aneke, Chief of Air Staff, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers across key command and staff positions in a sweeping reorganisation aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and aligning the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) with his leadership vision.
In a statement issued on Friday by Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, no fewer than 19 senior officers have been assigned new appointments, while six others were posted to various defence and inter-service establishments.
According to NAF, the redeployment reflects the new Air Chief’s determination to “improve decision-making, strengthen coordination across units and commands, and reinforce the service’s readiness in response to evolving security challenges.”
Under the new postings, Abubakar Abdullahi now serves as Chief of Policy and Plans, while Adeniran Ademuwagun has been appointed Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna. Ibitayo Ajiboye takes over as Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited Group of Companies.
Precious Amadi was named Chief of Operations, just as Nnamdi Ananaba assumes duty as Chief of Air Intelligence. In the same vein, Ebimobo Ebiowe will oversee Standards and Evaluation, while Ahmed Dari becomes Chief of Training.
The Transformation and Innovation Branch is now headed by AVM Mohammed Ibrahim.
In the logistics and engineering sectors, Olufemi Ogunsina has been appointed Chief of Aircraft Engineering, and Michael Onyebashi takes command as Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command. David Pwajok was named Chief of Communication and Information Systems, while John Ukeh assumes duties as Air Provost Marshal.

To reinforce NAF’s administrative and welfare structures, Simon Peter has been appointed Managing Director of the NAFIL Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Chidiebere Obiabaka becomes Air Secretary. Anthony Martins now serves as Chief of Administration, Abubakar Sule as Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun as Managing Director, NAF Farms.
The new Chief of Civil-Military Relations is Edward Gabkwet, while Osichinaka Ubadike has been named Deputy Commandant, AFIT.
The statement further noted that other senior officers, including Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe, have been posted to various defence and inter-service establishments to enhance synergy in joint military operations.
