Nasarawa: One female selected as six shortlisted for COE Akwanga Provost interview

The Governing Council of the Nasarawa State College of Education, COE, Akwanga, has shortlisted six candidates – including five men and one woman – for the final interview to fill the position of substantive Provost of the institution.

Sources within the college confirmed that the Bulus Moyi-led Governing Council made the selection from a pool of 18 applicants.

The interview is expected to take place in the coming working days.

Following the interview, three of the six candidates will be recommended to Governor Abdullahi Sule, who serves as the Visitor to the College, for final consideration and appointment.

Currently, Dr. Danladi Ibrahim is serving as Acting Provost.

He assumed the role in April after the tenure of the former Provost, Dr. Jonathan Thani, ended. Ibrahim’s six-month acting tenure is set to expire this October.

Governor Sule had earlier assured that the next Provost would be appointed strictly on merit, stating that only candidates capable of moving the college forward would be considered.

Established in 1976, the College of Education, Akwanga, remains one of Nasarawa State’s key institutions dedicated to training teachers and advancing educational development.
