New era for Ademola Lookman as Atalanta sack Ivan Juric
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is set to work under a new manager after Atalanta officially announced the sacking of Ivan Juric following a poor run of results in Serie A.
Juric’s dismissal came after Atalanta’s 3-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Sassuolo on Sunday, leaving the club in 13th place after 11 league matches in the 2025/26 season.

A statement on the club’s website confirmed the decision, “Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his position as head coach of the first team, along with his closest members of staff: Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojic, and Michele Orecchio.
“Atalanta thanks Ivan Juric and his staff for their efforts and wishes them all the best for the future.”
Juric’s tenure in Bergamo lasted just 15 matches across all competitions, yielding four wins, eight draws, and three defeats. Despite flashes of promise, a long sequence of stalemates and back-to-back league losses forced the club’s hierarchy to act.

The former Torino and Verona coach, appointed last summer as Gian Piero Gasperini’s successor, struggled to replicate Atalanta’s trademark intensity and attacking flair.
Reports in Italy suggest that Raffaele Palladino, formerly of Monza and Fiorentina, is expected to be announced as Atalanta’s new head coach in the coming days.
The managerial change could mark a new chapter for Ademola Lookman, who has been one of Atalanta’s standout performers since he arrived in 2022 and will now look to rediscover his best form under new leadership.
