Nigerdock collaborates with NPA on new growth phase for Snake Island Port
Nigerdock is seeking increased collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to expand Snake Island Port capacity and position Lagos Harbour for the next phase of port growth
During a familiarisation tour of the terminals, Maher Jarmakani, chairman of the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ), said their partnership aims to unlock efficiencies that can strengthen Nigeria’s trade competitiveness.
Both sides say they are exploring ways to align regulatory priorities with private investment in infrastructure and sustainability.
Dayo Adeyeye, board chairman of the NPA, said the Authority will continue to back private sector-led port development, describing the project as essential to Nigeria’s long-term maritime strategy.
The Snake Island Port, comprising three terminals was approved for development by the NPA in December 2024 under a public-private partnership, a 45-year concession designed to drive new trade routes.
It currently provides logistics solutions and support for various clients.
