‎1. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has travelled to the United Kingdom to seek medical attention, multiple sources confirmed on Tuesday morning. The report, first published by Western Post, was confirmed by a source that the minister might seek medical attention abroad if the need arises.

2. The Super Eagles of Nigeria cruised to a 4–0 victory over the Benin Republic on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo but fell short of securing automatic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite the emphatic win, Nigeria finished as one of the best second-placed teams in the CAF qualifying series and will now advance to the African playoff round.

3. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central), has said women trafficked to Libya have been giving birth to children in Libyan prisons. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday adjourned hearing in the suit seeking to stop the planned national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party until Thursday, to allow parties to resolve a dispute over the party’s legal representation. Justice James Omotosho gave the ruling following a heated disagreement between two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Chris Uche and Kamaldeen Ajibade, both of whom claimed to represent the PDP in the case.

6. The All Progressives Congress has adopted the consensus option to select its governorship candidate for the October 27 primary election in Ekiti State. The decision followed the voluntary withdrawal of one of the two cleared aspirants, Mrs. Atinuke Omolayo, leaving Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the sole contender.

7. In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Jigawa State Police Command arrested no fewer than 105 suspects during simultaneous raids across the state.
