Nnamdi Kanu: Igbos not treated like other Nigerians – Rep

A House of Representatives member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State, Obi Aguocha, has decried that rules governing the Igbos appear to be different from the rest of Nigeria.

Aguocha made the claim on Sunday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television.

He spoke against the backdrop of the continued detention of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and the recent clemency granted to those he described as drug lords and murderers by President Bola Tinubu.

He called on all the Igbos to raise their voices, even if it means doing so through peaceful protests.

The lawmaker alleged that in the administration of criminal justice in Nigeria, an Igbo man faces a host of challenges that other tribes do not experience.

“I firmly believe that we must all raise our voices, even if it means doing so through peaceful protests.

“In the administration of criminal justice in Nigeria, an Igbo man faces a host of challenges that other tribes do not experience.

“In a recent series of pardons, President Tinubu granted clemency to ‘drug lords’ and ‘murderers,’ yet Nnamdi Kanu, who has committed no offence, has endured extensive dehumanisation for ten years,” he lamented.
